From The East

Brethren,

As summer comes to a close and we return to our regular lives, I want to welcome everyone to a new Masonic Year.

There are new and exciting things as well as the re-institution of some past ideas planned for the future. These will only be possible with support from the brethren, so come out and help keep St. John's Lodge #2 open and active.

My goal for the in-suing Masonic year is to bring attendance up by making the lodge meetings more interesting and not "All Business". We will have more "Casual" nights so check the Trestle Board and Masonic Calendar regularly.

Mark your calendars:

Our Grand Visit will be on December 10, 2014 this year. Lodge will open at 5:30 with business as usual, change over to EA, and receive the Grand Master at 6:00pm. There will be snacks and sandwiches before and after lodge but no formal dinner. Cost is $2.00 at the door. The Grand Masters Charities are; "Home of the Brave" and "MSA (Masonic Service Association)". Take due notice and govern yourselves accordingly.

An Interesting Point Of Fact

If dues are due by the December meeting...

and your "Active" membership (dues Card) status in the lodge runs from Jan 1- Dec 31...

and you wait to pay your dues until January...

then on Jan 1 and until you receive your Dues Card, You are NOT "A Member In Good Standing" with your lodge.

Don't Forget to Pay your Dues

You do not have to wait until you get a notice to start paying your dues. You can make partial payments throughout the year instead of one lump sum at the end.

Announcements


GRAND MASTER VISIT – This year's Grand Master Visit will be on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 6:00pm. No formal dinner, refreshments will be provided after the meeting. Cost: $2.00 in advance or at the door.

ANNUAL COMMUNICATION – The 208th Annual Grand Lodge Communication will be on Monday, October 6th in Rehoboth Beach Delaware. Registration starts at 8:30 AM.

NCMHC STOCKHOLDER'S MEETING – The NCMHC Stockholders meeting will be on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 8:00 pm. If you own stock, please plan on attending.

NEW CASTLE MASONIC HALL COMPANY – This month the Worshipful Master will be accepting nominations for the Hall Company. If you are interested in helping your lodge by serving as a member of the Hall Company, please submit your name to the Worshipful Master prior to the meeting. The Hall Company meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month.

FACEBOOK – St. John's Lodge has a Facebook page which enables us to spead some announcements and picture pertaining to the lodge faster. If you have a Facebook account, "Like" us to get informed quicker!

ASSISTANCE – Please notify us if you know of any member who is ill or in need of assistance.
